Twisted Innovations hosts ‘Diesel Day’ for trucksBy MARGIE NETZEL - mnetzel@starbeacon.comStar Beacon
ASHTABULA — Big boys will bring their big toys to Twisted Innovations on Saturday to show off their horsepower and torque, vehicle customizer Kevin Cragon said.
Twisted Innovations by Ti-Dyno will host the Diesel Dyno Day at the customization shop at 776 Center St. from 9 a.m. until the last truck burns rubber. The event is open to the public.
“The guys put their trucks on the Dyno-Ometer,” Cragon said, “and we test the limits of the truck’s horsepower and torque and see who has the best.”
Cragon said a lot of money goes into these high-output trucks.
“These guys put tons of money into these trucks and they do this for the bragging rights. They are trying to get the most power out of their truck,” he said. “Some guys take their motor completely apart and rebuild it, just because they want to be the fastest and the best.”
Anyone can enter a diesel pickup truck into the competition. Registration is $75 and $25 of each entry fee will be donated to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.
The event will also feature a 50/50 raffle and a diesel performance parts raffle for exhaust and tuners, Cragon said.
Pre-registration is appreciated, but not necessary and can be made by calling (474-2059).
